Castillo Jimenez & Peña Veras is a business law oriented firm based in the Dominican Republic. Founded in 2001 under the name Cesar Castillo & Asociados, it was first focused on legal collections by a platform named COBRONET. Throughout the years, COBRONET managed a large and diverse portfolio to most of the financial, telecommunication and energy corporations in the country. Consequently, the firm diversified its practice to the trade and administration of debts and distressed assets in association with well known worldwide institutions. Castillo Jimenez & Peña Veras has developed a successful skill in complex civil litigations, including notorious transnational cases. In commercial and tax law, the firm has had a wide experience with different type and sophisticated corporate vehicles to fulfill any kind of business and asset protection needs.
The firm has proficient skills with the incorporation, maintenance, transformation, merges and acquisition of varied and multijurisdictional entities. Since 2009 our office is actively working in the transformation of local companies to accomplish the new corporate legal regime approved in the Dominican Republic. Our practice has been strengthened by a vast experience in migration, administrative, public biddings, finance, free zone, tourism and real estate law and related activities.
